DSP shoots self with own revolver during student protest

Deputy superintendent of police, Baljinder Singh Sandhu, died of a bullet wound. He allegedly shot himself with his own service revolver. The officer was trying to defuse tension at Regional Campus of the Punjabi University in Jaitu, Punjab, where students were protesting against the arrest of two students a couple of days ago.  The bullet fired by Sandhu pierced his head to hit another policeman and injured him as well.
