1 each District Hospital, SDH, CHC, 14 PHCs functional in Leh: Bali Bhagat
JAMMU:- Minister for Health and Medical Education, Mr Bali Bhagat informed the House that as per the norms of Indian Public Health Standards one each District Hospital, Sub-District Hospital (Nobra), CHC (Skurbuchan) and 14 PHCs are functioning in Leh district.
Replying to a question by Mr Nawang Rigzin Jora, the Minister said that doctors and 504 paramedics are posted in these hospitals against sanctioned strength of 121 and 534 respectively. He further informed that at SNM Hospital Leh specialist doctors of Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Physician, Ophthalmology, ENT and Radiology have been provided. Similarly, at SDH Nobra the department has provided specialists of Gynaecology, Surgery, anaesthesia and Paediatrician.
The Minister further told the House that the PHC at Khaltsi and Nyoma are not working on internal adjustment basis at SDH but working with their own sanctioned staff.
