Mehbooba to step in for the release of Bilal after state police report

State CM Mehbooba Mufti is also holding home portfolio and is likely to take up the arrest of Bilal Ahmad Kava with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, as state police in its report has said that there is no case registered with them against the person and they have not received any notice from Delhi police declaring him a proclaimed offender.
The family members of Bilal told VOV that they met ADGP of police Muneer Khan on Saturday who has also assured all the help from the state police for the release of Bilal.
Earlier family members of Bilal along with other residents held a protest in Srinagar accusing the Delhi police of framing Bilal in a terror case of 2000 known as Red Fort attack case. Bilal was arrested by dehi police and Gujarat anti terrorist squad on January eleven from Indra Gandhi airport claiming that he was a proclaimed offender. His family has rejected the claim of Delhi police and said that New Delhi was pushing Kashmiri youth to pickup guns by framing them in terror cases.
Mehbooba Mufti is likely to take up the case of Bilal with Rajnath Singh as Bilal got a clean chit from J&K police and Delhi police said that he was hiding and was declared proclaimed offender. Meanwhile Mirwaiz Umar Farooq led Huriyat confrence has stepped in and has said in a statement that Bilal was being implicated in the Red Fort the case and demanded his immediate release.
