Kashmir Ladakh freezing with no respite in sight

Kashmir and Ladakh regions witnessed subzero temperatures in the previous night. On Sunday MET office of Srinagar said that there are indications of dry weather for another week and temperatures may go further down. Weatherman in Srinagar predicted that there are no indications of any snowfall or rains till January 20. With open skies and dry weather Kashmir valley and Ladakh regions are facing the severest face of winter locally called Chil e Kalan. This harsh winter face of 40 days will culminate on January 30 2018.
MET office has recorded the Leh town the coldest place during previous night with temperatures going down to minus 15 degree Celsius. Srinagar city was shivering at minus 4.5 degree Celsius.
