Supply of safe drinking water to people Govt’s priority: Sham Choudhary

JAMMU, JANUARY 12: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today visited Public Health Engineering (PHE) pumping station Boria Complex to take stock of its functioning after some technical snag was reported there.

During the visit,Minister  applauding the efforts and quick action taken by the officers and other staff of the department in restoration of the machinery and supply of water .He instructed the senior officers to take adequate  safety measures so that no such incident happens in future and be in state of readiness  to deal with the situation.

Minister reiterated commitment of the Government towards providing safe drinking water to the people and directed them to put in their sincere efforts in making full use of available resources. He also exhorted upon the officers to maintain cleanliness in and around the area of water treatment plants so that clean water is supplied to the people.

Minister further asked them to detect leakages in water pipes and repair them immediately so that the wastage of water can be checked and people get clean drinking water.

Chief Engineer PHE Ashok Gandotra, Superintending Engineer A.S Wazir, Executive Engineers Ajay Sharma, J.P Singh and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
