Kashmir film on a journalist to be released

While there are no cinema halls in Kashmir since the eruption of militancy in 1990, Kashmiri artists and filmmakers have never given up. A locally film made named Kashmir daily based on the story of journalist is ready for release across the country. It has a well known Bollywood actor of Kashmir origin Mir Sarwar. The makers of the film told media that neither the government nor any business house in Kashmir helped them in making of the film. Hussain Khan who the writer producer and director of the film told media that he completed the film in more than three years because of financial constraints. He told media that this Kashmiri film from Friday onwards would be screened on PVR’s of different cities like Mumbai Chennai Delhi Kolkata and Jammu. These Kashmiri origin actors and artists are hopeful that cinema will take roots in Kashmir and that local artists will get much needed stage to perform.
