Expedite selection of posts referred by Revenue Deptt: Veeri to JKSSB

JAMMU – Minister for Revenue, Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation & Reconstruction and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today directed Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board to expedite the selection process on fast-track basis for various posts referred by the Revenue department for augmenting the staff strength.
Minister said this while reviewing the status of selection process for the posts of Naib-Tehsildar, Patwari and others with the representatives of JKSSB.
The meeting was attended by Advocate General J&K Jehangir Iqbal Ganai, Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Shahid Inaytullah, Financial Commissioner Revenue Lokesh Jha, Secretary Law Abdul Majeed Bhat, Member JKSSB Musheer Ahmed Mirza, Secretary JKSSB Dr Rehana Akhtar, Additional Secretary GAD Pankaj Malhotra, and other concerned senior officers.
During the meeting, the Minister sought details of various posts referred by the department. He was informed about the number of posts referred and its present status.
Veeri directed the JKSSB to speed up the selection process so that vacant posts can be filled up at the earliest. He said that the department has a large public interface and it requires qualified manpower to assure prompt delivery of services to people besides carrying out other departmental activities.
The Minister asked the concerned to conduct DPCs on regular annual intervals and clear the pending cases so that employees working with the department would get due promotions and other benefits.
He also asked Commissioner Secretary Revenue to take up the issue of confirmation of Tehsildars with J K Public Service Commission and to redress the objections if any raised by PSC on priority.
Veeri asked the recruitment agency JKSSB to redouble their efforts in filling up the posts already referred to them so that department would further improve its functioning. He also asked to speed up the recruitment process for various posts lying vacant with the department.
