Leh reeling under coldtwo road connections to kashmir closed
Leh according to MET office witnessed coldest previous night with temperatures going down to minus 5.8.similarly in neighbouring Kargil town cold knocked the doors at minus 5.1.
As Kashmir gets first snow fall of season it has resulted in closure of Srinagar leh highway on thrusday. Similarly shopian Rajouri road known as Mughal road also got closed as pir Panchal Hill range also got a snow fall.
Although rains lashed many stretches of Srinagar Jammu highway but it is still open for traffic and is the only road link to kashmir. The dry spell of several months was over when rains lashed the plains and snow covered the peaks of Kashmir. On Wednesday two prominent Hill resorts of sonamarg and gulmarg got light snow fall the first of the season.
