Our fight for one GST rate with 18 per cent cap will continue: Rahul
New Delhi, Nov 11: Claiming that it was the pressure exerted by the Congress that led to the GST Council reducing the tax rates on several items from 28 per cent to 18 per cent, party Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said his party’s fight foe a single GST rate with a cap at 18 per cent would continue.
‘India needs a simple GST not a ‘Gabbar Singh tax’. The Congress and the public of the country have fought to get the tax rate on several items from 28 per cent to 18 per cent. Our fight for a single GST rate with a cap at 18 per cent will continue. If the BJP does not dop it, the Congress will ,’ Rahul said in a tweet.
