Cop thrashed by villagers at awnttipora
A cop posted at Anantnag town was coming back and enroute was caught by a mob and thrashed for being an alleged braid chopper. Police said that they have arrested some youth for questioning and the cop was rescued. It was not immediately known why he was in the village on late Saturday night and how he was caught.
Thrashing of cop came on the same day when syed Ali Shah Geelani has appealed people not to thrash any person. He said that youth should hand over any suspect to masjid or mohalla committee members.
