Delhi shocker: Six-year-old raped in south Delhi school, accused staff arrested
Updated: October 5, 2017
A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 23-year-old employee of a private school in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area on Wednesday afternoon. The girl, a Class I student, had gone to washroom in the middle of her classes when she was allegedly raped. The accused, a housekeeping staff hired 15 days ago, has been arrested.
The girl did not tell anything to the school teacher, however, she told her mother about the alleged incident when she reached home. There were rashes in her private parts and she also complained of pain, said a police officer.
The mother then rushed her to school and informed the teachers about the assault. The teachers then caught the accused who has been identified as Rakesh.
“I got a call from my wife after which I rushed to the school. From there a call was made to police and the accused was handed over to them,” the girl’s father told The Indian Express.
Her father further said it was utter carelessness on the part of the school administration to let a male enter female toilets.
School headmistress Sushma Manchnada, however, told The Indian Express that every washroom is manned by a female attendant. “It was unfortunate that when the girl entered the washroom, the female attendant was not available, as she had gone to drink water. In the meantime, the man went inside,” said Manchanda.
Police said a case of rape and POCSO Act has been registered at Malviya Nagar Police Station.(Agencies)
