Mehbooba Mufti says her police trying best to book braid choppers

Srinagar State Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that her police was doing its best to find the truth behind the braid chopping incidents in entire J&K State. She said that it was a matter of concern for her government to instill back confidence among the women was her duty.

She disclosed that police was in touch in other states where braid chopping incidents have taken place. The State police is also investigating what kind of spray was being used by the braid choppers before making the women unconscious. Mehbooba Mufti said that a team of doctors has been roped in to understand how the culprits were operating in Kashmir.

Already J&K Police has doubled the reward money for any credible information leading to the arrest of braid choppers. IGP Kashmir range Muneer Ahmad Khan told media that Special Investigation Teams (SITs) set-up in various districts of Kashmir were in the middle of investigation. However, he said so far they have not been able to crack any of the cases regarding braid chopping.

Massive protests were witnessed at Batamaloo in Srinagar city on Sunday after a women was sprayed with some substance by burqa clad braid choppers before chopping of her hair. There have been dozens of protests across Kashmir by women, raising anti-police and anti-government slogans for their failures to nab the culprits.
