Thousands of schools without physical teachers in J&K

Srinagar:-over 7,310 schools are without physical teachers in Jammu and Kashmir, where the Committee on estimates of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has recommended enhancement in budget allocation for Youth Services and Sports (YS&S) department.
The committee has also directed Commissioner Secretary YS&S department to complete all ongoing works on sports stadiums across the state within their stipulated time frames, an official spokesman said here today.
He said the committee discussed the functioning of the YS&S and the activities of the Sports Council in the state and directed for completing all ongoing works on existing infrastructure before taking up new works.
Meanwhile,An amount of Rs 1724.04 crore has been distributed in priority and non-priority sectors by various banks under District Credit Plan (DCP) so far during the current fiscal year in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.
Officials here today said that that total credit developed by all the banks operating in the district up to the quarter ending June 2017 of current financial year stands at Rs 1724.04 crore.
Of which, they said Rs 1231.47 crores stands deployed under priority sector and Rs 491.58 crore under non- priority sector in Pulwama.
