Srinagar city during the current summer has witnessed intermittent spells of curfew and authorities have today also imposed restrictions in five police stations of downtown.

Reports said that people of srinagar city are fed up with these restrictions as it is impacting their lives and makes the journey of ailing people to different hospitals even more difficult.the authorities have devised a novel method to keep srinagar city peaceful and that is to impose curfew.

Already for the past five running Fridays Jamia Masjid srinagar remained locked by police and there are no comments from the news channels on such religious interference. The logic being given for not allowing Friday prayers is to avoid loss of lives and violence.by this logic amaranth yatra should have been suspended for days after the attack.such was the pressure on state government not to suspend the Yatra at any cost that they allowed their vehicles to move despite landslides and resulted in tragic death of many yatris.

People of srinagar city feel that police and authorities were pushing the city to boil by going for random arrests and intermittent curfew spells without even any trace of violence.

  1. Recently people of Maiusuma in local newspapers appealed to government to save their youth from police raids without any incident of violence in the locality. Similarly the families of those dozens of youth arrested by police in connection with alleged lynching of police officer have told media that their wards were being framed by police without any evidence.police recently said that they killed the main accused in lynching of police officer but continue to keep the other suspects in detention.
