Shut down in Bijbehara against civilian killing

A complete shutdown is being observed in Bijbehara town of Islamabad district in southern part of Kashmir on Wednesday to mourn the killing of 60 year old Mohammad Abdullah Ganai.

All shops, business establishments and educational institutions are closed in the town however traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu highway was moving normally.

Ganai was injured after Army men opened fire in Bijbehara on Monday after they entered into an altercation with locals. He was hit by a bullet in his left leg and was immediately shifted to Bone and Jointhospital Srinagar.

After getting operated in B&J, Ganai was shifted to SKIMS Soura for specialized post-operative treatment, where he unfortunately succumbed.
