Curfew lifted in Srinagar train service resumed

Authorities have lifted curfew restrictions in seven police stations of srinagar on Saturday morning and rail service was also resumed after two days.

Reports said that soon after the restrictions were lifted the life bursted on the streets of downtown srinagar as people started doing their idd shopping. On Friday this was for the first time in the post 1947 history of kashmir that last Friday congregation was not allowed at Jamia masjid srinagar. Authorities imposed curfew restrictions on Friday to prevent protests on the call of joint resistance leadership in protest against the killing of civilian and injuries to 70 others at Kakapora. Large number of people protested against the killing of three lashkar militants in the area triggering clashes. The protests were so massive that forces used bullets and pellets to disperse them.
