Malik arrested from city centre.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Yasin Malik was on Tuesday arrested in Srinagar – summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
Malik was scheduled to take part in a programme organized by Joint Resistance Leadership at Aali Masjid in Downtown Srinagar to commemorate the 50th death anniversary of Moulana Yusuf Shah.
A spokesman of the outfit said that Malik was detained from Abi Guzar Srinagar to prevent his participation in the programme.
“Malik Sahab has been lodged at Kothibagh police station,” he said.
Earlier, Hurriyat (M) Chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was also placed under house detention.
