KCCI holds emergency meet:will demand action against channel for defaming.
Srinagar:The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry held an emergent meeting under the chairmanship of its president Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Wani .It strongly condemned the maligning and defaming of some business houses by telecasting the false news of raids by National Investigating Agency (NIA) by Republic TV Channel.
As is known to everybody that Kashmir Economy has been passing through crisis for quite some time especially post 2014 floods .Such false malicious and defamatory reporting by a section of electronic media is adding fuel to fire thereby subjugating the economy of Kashmir and complicating the already volatile situation .
The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry appreciates the statement of minister of Education Mr. Altaf Ahmad Bukhari supporting our stand that such malicious reporting is disturbing peace in the Valley.
The Kashmir Chamber demands that the State Government and press council of India take notice and initiate strong and punitive action to stop this ever growing menace.
The Chamber is seriously considering the option of taking legal action against Republic Channel.
