Curfew in most parts of Srinagar:DC
Srinagar, May 27 (KNS): Following the killings of militants in Tral, the district administration Srinagar on Saturday decided to impose strict curfew in parts of Srinagar falling under the jurisdiction of eight police stations from Sunday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone told KNS, “The strict curfew will be imposed in the parts of Srinagar falling under the jurisdiction of eight Police Stations including Kralkhud, Khanyar, Rainawari, Safa kadal, Maharaj Gunj, Maisuma, Batamaloo and Nowhatta.”
He said that the strict curfew will be imposed as precautionary measures and would continue till further orders.
Pertinently, two militants and a civilian were killed in an encounter with government forces and subsequent clashes in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district today, officials said.
The killings triggered protests and shutdown across the valley. (KNS)
