Karwan-e-Aman bus service back on road.
The weekly ‘Karvan-e-Aman’ bus service, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, resumed on Monday after remaining suspended for two weeks.
The bus left Srinagar for Kaman post this morning, reports quoting officials said.
The weekly bus could not operate last week as army had launched a search operation at Adoora village in Uri sector after a firing incident.
The army had stopped the bus carrying 14 passengers at Jabla bridge and later it was decided to suspend the service, sources said.
The weekly bus also could not operate on May 1 following a communication from PaK authorities regarding suspension of service on account of International Workers’ day.
The cross-LoC bus service, started on April 7, 2005 has helped thousands of families, divided in 1947 due to partition, to meet each other after India and Pakistan agreed to allow travel of state subjects from both sides on travel permits, instead of international passport.
