Union minstery of highways and transport has approved the construction of tunnel and road to connect kashmir with rest of country by alternative highway which will pass through Doda .Badarwah and finally to Kashmir via simthen pass.
It would be a game changer for the economic development of chinab valley as 8kms of tunnel will make this alternate highway as all weather road.
It is in place to mention that state chief minister Mehbooba Mufti took up the matter with central government as jammu srinagar highway remained closed for days together beause of landslides.
