Mehbooba visits families of slain police personnel, JK Bank officials
Kulgam: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday visited the families of police personnel and JK Bank officials who were killed on May 01 by unknown assailants when they were on their duty to disburse cash in Kulgam district.
Mehbooba Mufti visited Nehama village in Kulgam district to personally convey her sympathies to the families of JK Bank official Muzaffar Ahmad and constable Farooq Ahmad, official spokesperson said in a statement. She later visited Ujroo to condole with the families of constable Muzaffar Ahmad and JK Bank official Javed Ahmad at Yarkipora and ASI Bashir Ahmad at Bonigam.
She expressed her heartfelt sympathies with the families of the slain personnel of JK Bank and Police, the statement said.
She said they laid their lives while preserving public money and their sacrifices won’t be allowed to go waste. She said the victim families would be duly looked after and every help and assistance would be provided to them by the Government.
Sharing the pain and grief of the bereaved families, the statement quoted Chief Minister saying that these personnel were on the duty to protect and disburse public money and their killing reflects the dangerous criminalisation turn the society is taking. She appealed people, particularly civil society and youth, to rise against this dangerous trend of looting of public money by spilling innocent blood, thereby giving Kashmir a terribly bad name in the civilized world.
Later, Mehbooba Mufti visited the family of constable Ishfaq Ahmad at Batapora, Zakoora in Srinagar who was also killed in the said incident and condoled with his family, including aged parents and young siblings.
