`If you follow Vajpayee, declare unilateral ceasefire’
Srinagar: MLA Langate Engineer Rasheed on Wednesday said that both Prime Minister Narindra Modi and State Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti were lying that they will follow Vajpayee policy on Kashmir. He said that both Central and State Governments have reversed all the steps taken by former Prime Minister to solve Kashmir problem. He said that if they were following the footsteps of Vajpayee, they should declare unilaterial ceasefire with militants in Kashmir to make conditions for the talks.
He further said that even Vajpayee was not in favour of any permanent solution for Kashmir and was only trying to engage Kashmiris in long drawn spells of talks to exhaust them. He said that there was nothing remarkable in Vajpayee’s policy on Kashmir to be followed in the J&K State. He said that even Narindra Modi was not ready to start those futile talks of past and is only trying to hold Kashmir by gun.
He ridiculed Mehbooba Mufti on her meeting of Unified Headquarters in which she said that there should be no anti-militant operations were civilians would be killed. Rasheed said that if New Delhi and Mehbooba are sincere to start dialogue and talk peace in Kashmir they must end all operations against militants and declare unilateral ceasefire as a step forward to move on the path of reconciliation in Kashmir.
