Hailstorm damage houses, fruit crops across Kashmir.

Srinagar: Strong winds and hailstorm followed by heavy rains have damaged lot of houses, fruit and vegetable crops besides inflicting damage to the electric poles at number of places in Kashmir as it engulfed lot of areas on Friday evening.

A sudden hailstorm and speedy winds engulfed Srinagar city and its outskirts especially Channapora, Natipora, Bagh-e-Mehtab, Nowgam, Hyderpora, Peer Bagh, and many villages of Budgam including Chrar-e-Sharief.  Rooftops of dozens of houses were blown away by the speedy winds and dozens of tree, electric poles were uprooted. The damages are heavy and the residents of all the affected areas told Voice of Valley that no official has visited to see the damage. They appealed PDD and other wings of the government to help them for the restoration of electricity and the roads as many link roads remained closed because heavy rains and uprooted trees and poles lying scattered on the roads.
