J&K police even after the instructions from Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to investigate all the videos which surfaced on social media regarding violence on April 9, a formal investigation and FIR against 53RR is unlikely, reports said.

Police is waiting for the victim Farooq Ahmed Dar a 26 year old resident of Chi Arezal to come forward for a formal complaint against army. Fearing for his life after he received death threats by army while they tied him with ropes on the front side of their jeep he has told media that he does not want to file any complaint against them. Farooq Ahmed Dar is working on the shawls and has very little income to feed his family. He has clearly told visiting media persons that he does not want to confront army or establishment as he has fears that army may bump him off.

Police has said that they can act only under law when they will receive a formal complaint by Farooq Ahmed Dar against army and said that even they cannot refer his case for investigation to army without a formal complaint. Meanwhile police has registered a case of murder against security forces on the basis of a video being run on social media in which a teenage protestor is shot in head without any warning.
