Div Com Jammu reviews functioning of Revenue Department in Samba

          SAMBA, NOVEMBER 26: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar,, today reviewed the functioning of Revenue Department here at a meeting held in the Conference Hall, DC office Samba.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta; SSP, Abhishek Mahajan; ADDC, Rajinder Singh; ACR, Manu Hansa; SDM Ghagwal, Ramkesh  Sharma; SDM, Vijaypur Vinay Kumar; tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars besides other revenue field staff and officials were also present.

The Deputy Commissioner, while giving an overview on the functioning of the Revenue Department in Samba, gave a detailed powerpoint presentation on the working of the revenue department. She informed about the present status of Digitization of Jamabandis, Land Passbooks generation and distribution, delineation of gair mumkin khads, eviction of State/kahchatie/common land, retrieval of Roshni land, demarcation of JDA land, online services, inheritance mutation, status of Revenue Court cases, SVAMITVA besides other minor issues.

The Divisional Commissioner directed to expedite the Land Passbooks generation and Digitization of land records in the district. He also laid emphasis upon taking daily progress achievement for regular monitoring of Department’s functioning, besides directing the revenue staff to ensure completion of assigned tasks within stipulated time frame.

          About the status of land record modernization, the meeting was informed that the jamabandis for 369 villages out of 382 villages have been completed.

Regarding the generation of land passbooks, the meeting was informed that 64698 land passbooks have been generated till date, while over 23000 have been given away to the legal owners. The Div Com issued directions for completing the process of generation and distribution of land passbooks at the earliest.

While reviewing the progress in the change of land use cases, the Div Com stressed on the importance of ensuring the speedy disposal of all the files regarding the same. He also reviewed the tehsil-wise status of inheritance mutations and the meeting was informed that out of 1211 mutations 637 have been attested and 574 are pending. The Div Com directed to complete the mutations on priority basis.

The Div Com, while inquiring about the status of encroached land retrieved so far, was informed that 15356 kanal of state land has been retrieved as of now.

 Similarly, 364 kanal of Kahchari and 267 kanal of common land have also been retrieved. He asked the officers to further speed up retrieval of illegal encroachment drives and set weekly and monthly targets in this regard. He also asked them to ensure that the state land, once retrieved, is not encroached again.

Similarly, it was informed that 1005 kanal of Roshni land had been retrieved in the district.

Discussing the progress made under delineation, the Div Com stressed that the Tehsildars would conduct spot visits before preparing any file under delineation. The Div Com also reviewed the status of court cases pending in the districts and directed the DC to expedite the disposal of the cases.

          Taking stock of the online revenue services being provided to the general public, the Div Com was informed about a number of revenue services being provided to the general public through the online mode.

The Div Com asked the concerned officers to ensure prompt disposal of online applications. He also stressed the importance of conducting regular monthly meetings to discuss the issues and progress made under the online services.

Addressing the officers in the meeting, the Div Com underlined the priorities of the government, like the digitization of jamabandies, the online delivery of various revenue services, and other public friendly initiatives recently started by the government to bring transparency and accountability in the department.

          He also directed the revenue officers to educate the public about the online services and motivate them to avail themselves of the same.

The Div Com also reviewed in detail land acquisition process for Delhi Katra Expressway, BOP, Border fencing and was informed that majority land has been acquired while the process is on to complete.
