AnganWadi workers demand better salaries and dignified survival

AnganWadi workers in Ganderbal district held protests on Tuesday demanding their salaries at par with other states and UTs of the country.
Talking to the media, these AnganWadi workers said that they are being deputed by different government departments for surveys, for undertaking duties.
They said that they have been working with the rural development department, health department, social welfare department and education department.
One of the AnganWadi workers said that she got a district award for her honest work but was not given any compensation by the government.
The protesting AnganWadi workers appealed Manoj Sinha to end the parity in their salaries and have claimed that they have been working very hard including during the covid waves to save the human lives.
