Parents of those students who are enrolled in the Orbit Girls School Peerbagh held a protest on Monday claiming that the school has been merged with another private school without their consent and even they have not been informed.

The protesting parents said that such merging of schools is against ethics as they have not given their consent and have asked authorities to intervene.

According to KNT in its news report about the protesting by the parents it has said in its news report as follows.

Parents and students Monday staged a protest against the merging of a private school against their will in Srinagar.

The school in question is ‘Orbit Girls School’ located in Peerbagh Srinagar that according to parents has been merged with ‘World Foundation School’ without taking them into confidence.

The protesters raised slogans against the school administration and concerned authorities.

“We received a WhatsApp message from the Principal of the ‘Orbit Girls School’ on 17 December. We thought parents have been called over ‘fee row’ but to our shock, we were informed that this school has been merged with another school. The school administration took this unilateral decision after collecting fee from all students,” one of the protesters told news agency Kashmir News Trust.

“‘We are against this merging and seek the intervention of LG Manoj Sinha and Director Education. We have been deceived,” the protesters said.
