In Baramulla district, the Education Department has imposed a ban on the government teachers to impart any classes or any form of education on the students in the private coaching centers.

This is the first district to go for such a ban on the government teachers as in most of the private coaching centers government teachers are not only working but many of them have jointly floated these coaching institutes in various areas.

However, it is to be seen whether the Directorate of Education Kashmir will go for the ban on all the government teachers across Kashmir to prohibit them from either imparting education in these institutes or for running such institutes.

Meanwhile KNT in its news report about the ban on the government teachers in Baramulla district has said on Thursday in its report as follows.

The Education Department in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district has imposed a blanket ban on Private Tuitions by Government School Teachers.

The Office of the Chief Education Officer Baramulla in this regard has issued a circular that reads: “In light of the directions issued by the department from time to time, all the Teachers, Masters & Lecturers of the district are directed not to practice tuition/coaching in any private institution/coaching center. As such all the school Heads are advised to certify that none of their teacher/lecturer is unauthorizedly involved in private tuition.”

“Any of the teaching personnel found violating the directives, strict action shall be taken against the official involved as it amounts to serious violation of the Government Employees Service Conduct Rules which prohibits the practice of Tuition/Involvement in private tutorial in any capacity by Government School Teachers.”

The  Zonal Education Officers have been instructed to maintain strict vigil over the violators of the said directions and prompt reporting to the office of Chief Education Officer Baramulla.
