After almost shutting the vaccination centres due to the non availability of vaccine, JK government has started fresh efforts to focus on the vaccination with high priority for high risk groups.

Recently the JK government after a series of high level meetings has kept ready the vaccination program in the entire Jammu and Kashmir and it will get a big push when the central government will send bulk vaccines.

Currently, Jammu and Kashmir is among the leading regions in the country in vaccination of above 45 years age group by vaccinating 62% of its eligible population compared to the national average of 32%, said a recent government communication to the media.

It further said that within J&K 4 districts have so far achieved 90% coverage in this age group.

Now as promised by the central government that there would be no shortage of vaccine in the coming months, government of Jammu and Kashmir has decided that the vaccination programme for 18-45 age group with an estimated population of 60 lakh will be ramped up in a systematic and phased manner to prioritize coverage of high-risk and vulnerable groups.

Recently the Chief Secretary has directed his officers to be ready with the comprehensive program to ramp up the process of vaccination especially the age group of 18-45 in entire Jammu and Kashmir without facing any roadblocks for future.
