Covid care training for SDRF personnel commences

JAMMU, MAY 25- A comprehensive training for SDRF personnel, deployed for performing Covid care duties, today commenced at headquarters second Battalion SDRF, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

The faculty from GMC Bakshi Nagar comprising Dr. Rakesh Bahl, Associate Professor, Community Medicine, Dr. Sandeep Dogra, Associated Professor, Community Microbiological, and Kanta, Senior Staff Nurse are imparting training to these personnel.

  1. K. Singh, DGP, Commandant General, HG/CD and SDRF J&K inaugurated the training programme on COVID-19 patient Care Support for SDRF personnel.

DGP exhorted upon the trainees to take keen interest in this specialized training being imparted by the experts of medical faculty to perform their assigned Covid duties.

During this 2 day training, both theoretical as well as hands on training to SDRF personnel will be provided which will include all the components of Covid-19 care like Care of Covid positive patients, Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Testing, practical issues of oxygen plants, mortuary management and related services.

During the training, Dr. Rakesh Bahl gave lecture on ‘Basic Introduction of COVID-19 and objectives of the training’, Dr. Sandeep Dogra, on ‘Components of COVID-19 Patient care and COVID-19 RAT infection Control & Personal protection’ while Kanta acquainted the SDRF personnel with ‘Donning and Doffing of PPE’ and ‘Nursing care of COVID Positive Patients in COVID wards’.
