New covid hospitals

Defence Research and Development Organization DRDO is going to set up two 500 bed covid hospitals in the twin capitals of Jammu and Srinagar and a decision has been taken recently by the government on this issue.

The media reports have suggested that the central government has asked the JK administration to immediately identify the land and locations for these two hospitals.

Many such announcements look good from New Delhi about the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir especially for the health care system.

The past experience is very bitter for the people of Jammu and Kashmir as many such proposals never saw the light of the day due to the bureaucratic delay.

We are already in the middle of covid-19 second wave and the bureaucrats of Jammu and Kashmir should not delay to identify the locations immediately and inform the central government.

There should be a promptness and urgency from JK administration so that Defence Research and Development Organization DRDO will also evaluate and submit the further proposal of estimate etc. to the central government.

The delay will kill the project if there is no seriousness on the part of JK administration to take this identification of locations on war footing so that these two new covid hospitals are set up as earlier possible.
