Srinagar

While the weatherman in Srinagar has predicted another spell of rains and snow in Kashmir, there is no significant footfall of tourists to visit Kashmir as it is covered in white carpet due to recent heavy snowfall.

Shikaras on the waters of Dal Lake are still, perhaps as still as its upper crest of waters as maximum portions of this lake have frozen with Srinagar witnessing one of the severest winters after decades.

Parliamentary delegation has also come to Srinagar and they are still discussing how to make tourism viable again for the people of Kashmir, while the Shikara wallas and houseboat owners along with hundreds of hotel owners are waiting for the tourism to pick up as for the years they have seen only disruptions and no season in real sense like past.
