JK Congress is not clear whether they are permanently within the fold of PAGD or have participated in the latest meetings only to hammer out differences over the seat-sharing issue in the coming DDC and by elections of panchayats.

The Congress in Jammu and Kashmir refused to be drawn into a controversy over whether it is a part of the newly-formed Gupkar Alliance after the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party accused it of joining a group of ‘anti-nationals’.

BJP leaders both at national and local level have put barrage of questions on the leadership of the Congress to explain to the nation their stand on Kashmir and over the abrogation of article 370.

The controversy started with Bihar elections when many Union Ministers of BJP dared Congress to keep it in the manifesto of Bihar elections that they want the restoration of article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. But because of the Bihar polls Congress leadership maintain stoic silence over this issue and both Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi did not utter a word over the formation of PAGD or about the controversial remarks made by Mehbooba Mufti made by the first press conference after she walked to freedom after 14 months of detention.

Congress has failed to take a stand on the Kashmir issue in the context of abrogation of article 370 as its many leaders including the Former Prime Minister maintained that they are questioning the timing and method adopted by BJP to do away with article 370 and not with its removal.
