Pace of probe
Police have been very slow in the investigation process of a fake encounter case at Shopian in which three youth from Rajouri were killed in cold blood.
Recently police said that they are at the final stage of probe into the Shopain fake encounter case and two persons stated to be army informers have been detained and taken to judicial remand. The families of victims said that they are looking for exemplary punishment to the culprits responsible for their killing.
While talking to media parents and other relatives of the victims said from Rajouri that they are not getting fair treatment from the bureaucracy and police.
After the intervention of LG Manoj Sinha police allowed the families to exhume the bodies and take them to their native villages for burial. This action was done as there was a lot of delay for the families even to get permission to take the bodies.
PC Chiarman Sajad Gani Lone in a tweet summed up the journey of these three youths to Kashmir to earn some money to continue their education. He said in his tweet that these three poor youths trekked 82 kilometers to get some money but now their bodies have reached their families is the tragedy of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sajad asked Police and authorities to come clean in this matter and not cook any further stories to discredit themselves among the people as initially police said that they were killed in the encounter and were militants showing arms and ammunition recovered from them.
While the police has yet to complete the investigation they are still looking for some face saving in this case by trying to show that these three youth of Rajouri were having some connection with hiding militants in that area.
