RESTRICTIONS RE-IMPOSED
Srinagar has seen a steep rise of COVID positive cases and all the plans of the government to unlock the severe lockdown imposed here could not be initiated. Government was thinking of starting life slowly in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir but the figures of COVID positive cases has frightened even the common people.
620 cases in a single day taking even the media people into its fold has shown that the administration has failed to contain the spread of the virus despite severe restrictions which were put in place in Srinagar city even before the national lockdown by one week.
While the normal life has been badly hit in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir due to the lockdown imposed by the authorities to contain the spread of corona virus, but the rising cases has shown that the authorities including police have gone lax on the ground. There has been lot of allegations that the officers and people of influence both in administration and police have been able to send their family members to the home quarantine and avoided the mandatory administrative quarantine for them.
Many media reports suggested that even the blue eyed families did not adhere to home quarantine and were seen freely mingling with people resulting in spread of corona virus despite restrictions. Whatever, the merit of these allegations fact remains that the rise of corona virus cases has brought more questions than answer about the efficiency of the administration about the containment of virus.
