Awantipora police prevents three boys from joining militancy

Srinagar, June 06 (KNS): Three youths have been prevented from joining militant ranks in Awantipora , police said on Saturday.
“Timely action taken by police prevented three youths from joining militant ranks in Awantipora. These youths had been indoctrinated and were influenced by the false narratives,” a police spokesman said.
According to police statement Awantipora police received an information that some youth of Tral area are about to join the Militant ranks and accordingly acting swiftly Police along with other security forces put forth hectic efforts and saved the three youth from joining the Militant ranks.
Police have identified the trio as Iliyas Amin wani (21), Abrar Ahmad Reshi (17) residents of Mandoora Tral and Ubaid Ahmad shah (19) resident of Shaldraman Tral were motivated and indoctrinated by the militant associates to join the Militant ranks.
The said youth developed contact with the active Militant in the said area for joining by means of the militant associates ( arrested by police). All the three youth were taken to Police Station Tral for counselling purpose along with their respective parents and were handed over to their respective parents
Moreover two Militant associates namely Rizwan Ahmad Wani and Rayees Ahmad Chopan residents of Mandoora Tral have been arrested for motivating youth for joining the militant ranks. The arrested OGWs have found to be providing logistics, shelter and other kind of support to Lasihker-e-Toiba and Hizb-ul-Mujhdeen in the area of Panner, Mandoor , Chankitrar, Ratsuna of Tral area besides motivating youth to join militant ranks.
Case FIR number 52/2020 stands registered against the said arrested militant associates in Police Station Tral under relevant sections of law, the statement said (KNS)
