Amid lockdown Noorabad villages reel under hardships

Many villages in Noorabad area of Kulgam are suffering on various fronts amid lockdown against COVID-19 virus. They told this reporter that after the recent snowfall and rains, electric supply has not been restored to dozens of villages here.
Many transformers got damaged and even after villagers collect money at local level for the restoration of transformers, PDD officials were still delaying the process.
Not only there is no electricity in these villages, even the basic medical facilities have not been restored in these villages. When people try to contact medical officials and PDD official they are chased away by police as strict restrictions have been imposed in the past few days due to the growing threat of COVID-19.
Villagers have appealed Deputy Commissioner of Kulgam to visit the area and instruct the officials concern to fix these problems so that the basic facilities are restored like electricity, drinking water and medical facilities.
