HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAMME

Administration has taken number of steps to go ahead with the modern techniques for teachers in higher education. Education sector has changed and there is dire need for such changes to come to Jammu and Kashmir also.

Recently in the connnection, Week-long National Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Deep Learning and its Applications” was inaugurated at Amar Singh College.

The programme was organised by the College in collaboration with E&ICT Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee Supported by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

The programme was also attended by Technical Expert from Devarthy Technologies, scholars, teachers and students from diverse fields.

Emerging trends in Machine Learning and Deep Learning, have forced the authorities here to go for such programmes and there should be series of programme of such nature for the teachers and students so that they can learn the new techniques for the higher education.

Detailed presentation regarding various facets of Deep Learning and contemporary use of Artificial Intelligence in Pattern Recognition, Autonomous Self-driven Vehicles, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Medical-Image Processing, Computer Human-Interaction, Machine Translation and EEG-based Brain-Computer Interfaces, were presented during this week long programme and many students and teachers got a new orbit of learning.

The need of the hour is to make higher education a priority sector in Jammu and Kashmir and allow the teachers connected with higher education to get the latest exposure for such programmes. Many more programmes should be not only conducted here but the teachers should be sent for such programmes outside also.
