Life disrupted in Kashmir on JRL call

Normal life was disrupted in Kashmir valley on Tuesday on the call of JRL asking people to observe hartal over the deteriorating health condition of Yasin Malik in Tihar jail. JRL had already given a call to the people of Anantnag district to observe a shutdown on the polling day today. With 170 additional paramilitary companies already deployed in south kashmir, there is a virtual security blanket covering this area of Kashmir that had been witnessing violence since 2016 unrest.
On the call of JRL all the educational institutions public transport bussing ssss establishments and shops are closed. Very thin private transport was plying on the main road as along with security vehicles on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile initial reports from Anantnag district said that most of the people were staying indoors and not coming out for voting. More details are awaited.
