Kashmir highway shut for vehicular traffic after heavy snowfall
Srinagar: Authorities on Saturday shut the Jammu-Srinagar Highway for vehicular traffic following heavy snowfall at the Jawahar Tunnel.
An official said that the vehicular movement was stopped in view of heavy snowfall around Jawahar Tunnel.
“Snowing heavily at Jawahar Tunnel on Jammu-Srinagar NHW, vehicular movement stopped. @JmuKmrPolice,” traffic police said on Twitter.
Widespread snowfall started across the Kashmir valley on Saturday as the weather office said there would be an improvement in the weather from Sunday.
