Tral : The Annual Urs of Hazrat Ameer Kabir Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA) lovingly known as Shah-e-Hamdan was celebrated on Saturday at Khanqah Faiz Panah in Tral area of South Kashmir today with religious fervor and enthusiasm.
Thousands of men and women devotees thronged the shrine right from Friday evening and attended the Shab Khawani which was observed at the shrine in connection with the Urs, which is being observed on 6 Zil Hijjah every year.
During Shabi Khawani night long prayers, Duaiya Majlis, recitation of Quran pak and Durud Paak were held and many clerics threw light on different aspects of Islam.
The holy relics of the Shahi Hamdan Hazrat Ameer Kabir RA were displayed since Saturday morning after every prayer which continued till Asar prayers.
The devotees expressed hope that the teachings of Shah-e-Hamdan (RA) shall remain alive in all times to come.
The devotees from nook and corner of Tral and other parts of South Kashmir’s Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag and Kulgam, during the Urs prayed for long-lasting peace in Kashmir and sought peace, blessings and mercy from Almighty.
After Khankah Faiz Panah Tral, another gathering was held at Ameerabad Tral where the holy relics of Ameer Kabir was also displayed during the evening.
It is noteworthy that Shahi Hamdan (RA) was very influential in spreading Islam in Kashmir and has had a major hand in shaping the culture of the Kashmir valley.
