Life crippled for third running day in Srinagar

Authorities have continued restrictions in downtown Srinagar for third running day on Monday to not allow Hurriyat having a public rally at eidgah. Seperatist have called for public match to eidgah grounds in Srinagar to commemorate the death anniversaries of late Maulana Mohameed Farooq and Abdul Gani Lone. With Srinagar city reeling under restrictions for third running day, residents of downtown have said that the authorities were not only paralysing the Nirmal life but also bent upon shattering economy. Residents of downtown said that in the past few months authorities have imposed restrictions for about a month in downtown Srinagar crippling life and economy.
Residents of downtown especially around Nowhatta said that police used excessive force on Friday against the protesting youth. They said that due to the excessive use of tear smoke and pava shells, many elderly persons were taken to hospital after they complained of breathlessness.
Meanwhile examinations scheduled for Monday today have been postponed by university of Kashmir and IUST Avantipora.
