Dozens of villages in twin districts of Shopian, Pulwama reeling under crackdown
In the wee hours of of Saturday 44 RR along with paramilitary CRPF and SOG of J&K police laid seige of about two dozen villages in the highlands of Keller forests after the inputs about the presence of militants.
A police officer told VOV that they were conducting house to house searches and so far they have not established any contact with militants in the cordoned area. The villages which are under crackdown have seen lot of militant activities in the recent past and some gun battles also. Army security forces and J&K police have been conducting lot of search operations in the entire South Kashmir under the operation all out. State DGP SP Ved recently told media that they have killed around 170 militants during this operation so far.
