PDP president and state chief minister Mehbooba Mufti in an interview with indian express has said that dialogue would be to look for a solution within indian union thus making chances of engagement with Huriyat bleak.
Mehbooba Mufti said that serious engagement will help to move forward in Kashmir and said that it may take time, it may be a slow process but it is the only way forward. Mehbooba Mufti has said that there should be no doubt that the solution has to come within the Indian constitution “we can’t give Azadi to people who demand that. We can only work towards the solution with the confines of Indian Union. It is our country and we believe in that”.
State chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has said that central governments fresh initiative for the Kashmir solution is different from the previous initiatives, a serious effort by Modi government to end sufferings of people of J&K. The central government recently announced the fresh political initiative by naming Danishwar Sharma, former director of intelligence beard as official representative of government of India. He has been given a cabinet secretary rank and union home minister Rajnath Singh said that he will have a free hand to decide to whom he should talk in Kashmir.
