Muslim countries need to take action to stop the persecution of the Rohingya community in Myanmar, says the director of the Center for Muslims Affairs.

We (the world Muslims) need to do all we can to put pressure on Muslim states to take some action to relieve the situation of the Rohingya Muslims; then stop the Buddhist state behaving in this way and committing crimes against humanity,” Jahangir Mohammad told Press TV on Tuesday.

About 1,000 persecuted Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar’s Rakhine state have fled to neighboring Bangladesh after coming under fire from military soldiers.(Agencies)
