Custody of three separatist leaders extended for a month, others for 10 days

The Patiala court on Friday extended the National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody of four Kashmiri separatists, including son-in- law of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani by 10 more days, while three separatist leaders were sent to judicial custody for a month in the case.
Separatist leaders Aftab Hilali Shah, Farooq Ahmed Dar and Mohammaed Akbar Khanday has bee send to Judicial Custody till  September 1.
The agency had arrested seven separatist leaders—Altaf Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Mehraj Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam, Naeem Khan and Bitta Karate—from Jammu and Kashmir for alleged cross-border funding in the Valley on 24 June.
A day after their arrest they were later sent to 10-day NIA custody. The accused have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.Six of them were arrested from Srinagar, while Bitta Karate was arrested from New Delhi.
