Mehbooba Mufti for engagement while BJP wants to jail separatists
chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has been for the engagement with separatists and Pakistan to bring kashmir out of the present cycle of unrest. but her coalition partner BJP wants to send all Hurriyat leaders to jail including ailing syed Ali Shah Geelani.
The clamour for banning Hurriyat is increasing especially after the controversial sting operation on some Hurriyat leaders by a news channel. former union ministers who are looking for an opportunity to work on the engegement with separatists have described the sting operation as part of the plan to derail their efforts for Kashmir peace.
Sharad yadav told the news channel for playing in the hands of those who want to descredit the separatists in kashmir.
Mehbooba Mufti government has been against the move of bjp hardliners who want to jail the Hurriyat leaders and want no talks with Pakistan. PDP is coming under exteme pressure to launch crackdown on separatists and slapping of PSA on Aaysa Andrabi is the example of the pressure from central intelligence agencies.
Deputy chief minister nirmal Singh has told media that his party was in favour of declaring Hurriyat conference as a terrorist organisation. In the coming weeks it would be visible who will prevail on Kashmir policy.so far NSA Ajit Doval has been able to carry on hard policy and no engagement on Kashmir either with separatists or Pakistan.
