Mirwaiz released, Geelani continues under house arrest
Srinagar: The government has lifted the restrictions on the movement of Mirwaiz Omar Farooq who was under house arrest from the past eight weeks. He was not even allowed to go for Friday prayers to Jamia Masjid Srinagar.
But the curbs on the ailing Syed Ali Shah Geelani continue at his Hyderpora residence. From the 2008 Amarnath Land row till date Geelani has been mostly kept under house arrest and was allowed to move freely for brief spells of time.
