Thunder storm plays havoc in Srinagar.

Srinagar: Hail storm followed by nasty winds and heavy rainfall damaged many residential houses at Chanapora locality in Srinagar. The huge popular trees in the area uprooted due to the storm and fell on the roof tops of some residential houses. The uprooted trees caused huge losses to the property, however inmates escaped unhurt. There are reports of damages to properties in adjoining areas while as power supply has been cut off due to the damage in transmission lines. Locals in the area while talking to voice of Valley said that, Despite repeated requests District Administration have paid no heed to cut down these popular trees as there are court orders in place to cut down theses trees.They Said that these trees are hanging danger over their heads and can cause lot of damage including consuming human lives in such hail storms.

Reports from areas like Bagh-i_Mehtab, Nowgam Bypass,Hyderpora,Peer Bagh and Budgam said that many houses were damaged in the hail storm of Friday evening.
